For us, accommodation is a key part of any good tour; we find places you’ll look forward to returning to each day. Our choice of Skye accommodation definitely fits the bill, as we have selected the welcoming 4-star Cuillin Hills Hotel in Skye’s largest town, Portree.
Formerly a stately hunting lodge, the Cuillin Hills Hotel sits on a hill at the edge of town, with superb views of Portree Bay and, beyond that, the distant Cuillin Mountains.
The highly-recommended restaurant focuses on quality produce from Skye itself, with a menu offering traditional favourites alongside modern dishes.
3. See Incredible Landscapes on your Isle of Skye Holiday
Skye is famous for its distinctive landscape, with jutting pinnacles, rugged coastlines and looming mountains that inspire a sense of awe. Our Isle of Skye tours will focus on different aspects of this unique landscape:
- For our shorter April/May ‘Isle of Skye Vacation Package’ and longer June 2024 ‘Highlands and Islands’, you’ll be discovering how Skye’s geology has led to the creation of its picturesque hills, mountains and more. Your stay on Skye in June will be capped off with a walk on the iconic Quiraing range, possibly one of the world’s most beautiful landslides!
- In our ‘Isle of Skye Landscapes and Photography Tour’, professional photographer Alex Hare will show you the best spots for a great photo of Skye, including remote coves, craggy cliffs and the famous Old Man of Storr pinnacle.

With a history of exploring and explaining across Scotland, Rob is the ideal person to help you understand the natural history of Skye, even if you’re not a geologist!
